He married Grace Dora Minor on December 09, 1917 in Otto, Cowley County, Kansas1, daughter of Coleman Loyd Minor and Rachel J. Overman.

Edwin Foltz was a rancher by trade, and was known for breaking horses and mules. He was also known for working with spoiled animals. Edwin worked on the 76,000 acre Cross L Range in New Mexico, Each cowboy was assigned a string of seven horses. One for each day of the week. The cowboys always rode in pairs. His partner was an Indian, named Cleazy Cheek, Cheek was later ambushed and killed in a range war. The ranch house was a big two story abode building.


Funeral services were held at 2:00p.m., Rev. Cheryle Peters, Hicks Chapel Church. Arranged by Wheeler Funeral Home, Cedar Vale.
