He married IRENE LADD167 April 05, 1761167. She was born May 30, 1744, and died June 19, 1817.

AMES CARPENTER:
He moved to Sharon, Vt. in 1780 and died there. He was a representative in the Legislature of Vermont, in 1786 and 1787 and one of the grantees of the town of Chittenden, in 1780.

He served in the Revolutionary war and was at Plattsburg at the time Cornwallis was taken, and his son James was also with him. His wife, while he was serving in the war of the Revolution, sowed upwards of eight acres of grain, because she could not obtain help. James marched to the relief of Boston, at the time the British marched to Lexington, for three days.
