Wilhelm Heinrich Leonard Gabel (son of Jacob Gabel and Theresa Hoffmann) was born 02 Jan 1907 in Swansea, IL, and died Oct 1973 in Dearborn Heights, Wayne, Michigan, United States of America²⁴⁵. These are all recollections from Eric Gabels brothers and sisters, as well as a few cousins:

Grandpa Gabel enjoyed the outdoors, and loved the kids. They lived just off of Telegraph Rd and Annapolis in Dearborn Heights where prior to the 50's style McDonalds, there were open fields. Grandpa would take the kids riding on the snowmobile, and also along with his son Lenhart Gabel, would take the "boys" hunting up north to the Trailer in Atlanta, MI. Many stories abound about bad chili, and the grandchildren.

Most remember his Green Vinyl chair, and the Christmas parties they would throw.
