Katherine Gabel (b. 19 Mar 1889, d. 04 Jan 1980)

Katherine Gabel (daughter of Friedrich Gabel and Maria Scheppel) was born 19 Mar 1889 in St. Clair Co. Belleville, IL, and died 04 Jan 1980 in St. Louis, MO. She married Edward Alt on 21 Aug 1920 in St. Louis MO, son of John Alt and Josephine.

(Sad story: Edward was terminally ill in hospital in January of
1980.
I believe it was his heart. Katherine went to visit him with
her son and
had a stroke or a heart attack and ended up in intensive care,
just down the
hall from Edward. She died before he did and the family
didn't tell him.)
I have a letter describing this from his sister Ethel to my
Dad, but again, will
have to find it.
