RICHARD GABEL, SR. - Richard L. Gabel, Sr., 60, of Groton, Conn .,
formerly of Belleville, Ill., died Wednesday, March 11, 1992 at the G roton
Submarine Base Hospital, Groton, Conn.
He was an Electrical Tech. Writer for General Dynamics in Groton , Conn., a
Navy Veteran of 20 years and a 10 year veteran of Fleet reserves.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Gabel; and a dau ghter,
Katie Gabel.
Surviving are his wife, Jennie L., nee Dittle, Gabel; a son and fi ve
daughters, Diane Galligan of Belleville, Richard L. Gabel, Jr. and wi fe, Kelli
of Gloucester, Va., Ruth and David Blue of Fayetteville, Ill., Susa n and Earl
Mullaney of Groton, Conn., Julie and Tony Parks of Effingham, Ill., P atricia
and Vance Cole of Abilene, Texas; mother, Esther T., nee Brochetto, G abel of
Swansea; two sisters, Jeanine and Richard Watts of Coulterville, Illi nois, Lynn
Fulte of Belleville; eight grandchildren, Jaime and Jill Mullaney, Da vid and
Katie Blue, Michael and Katie Galligan, Ellen and Mollie Gabel; Aunts , Uncles,
Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pete Gaer dner
Funeral Home in Belleville, with Fr. James Blazine officiating. Inte rment will
be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Belleville.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
There will be a Prayer Service held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, at the Pe te
Gaerdner Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southeastern Conn., Montaw k Ave.,
New London, CT 06320. ***********
