Fredrick and Ada Smith were married at Gundagai on 7 February 1906 and lived in Jugiong. They had 8 children William John, Linda, Margaret, Irene, Florence, Freda, Robert and Myra.
About 3 years ago, ganddaughter Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Spagnol (nee Smith) decided to start tracing the family tree and history. After 'encouraging' family members to put pen to paper and record information about their families, Betty was able to slowly gather data on the Jugiong Smith family.
While attending William (Billy) Smith's (grandson on Fredrick & Ada) funeral at Darlington Point in April 2000, family members decided to organise a Smith family reunion.
A date for the reunion was set for Saturday 12 January 2002 at the Jugiong Hall.
Sue Gavel, (great granddaughter of Fredrick and Ada Smith) was given the task of organising the reunion. All known descendants were invited.
Betty passed on all the information and photos she had gathered and Sue was able to develop a family tree and permanent records to share will all the family at the reunion.
