| Breaking ground on the search for the family tree. Have found that the Gearheart name was actually Gearhart just two generations ago. I have traced back to George Gearhart born January 28, 1806 and died March 2, 1894. I know that he was married three times. The first time to Helen MacGary in PA. Then a second wife, Emma Cross and the third was Amy Cross, possibly Emma's sister. George and Amy lived in Norwthest Missouri/Southwest Iowa at the end of their days and are buried in a small cemetary in Westboro Missouri. George had at least 14 children and I believe as many as 22 between the three marriages. You can check out more of the links to family members under the attached reports. Much of the information I have developed was started by conversations with a great woman who is a cousin to my grandfather and is a grand-daughter to George. Her name is Geraldine Kline Long and she still lives in the Southwest Iowa area. Recently I have been in touch with a distant cousin I met through this internet excercise; Joyce Newton from South Dakota. Joyce is in the George F. Gearhart line as well. together we are piecing together this puzzle. The Web has made this a much more enjoyable and information rich task. But as we are all aware, some information is not provable or even reliable. I apologize for the sloppy page as it currently exists but remember I have just started and in time I promise to add many details, stories, research data with sources and just some basic fun.
