4. FRANKLIN⁴ GEARHART (GEORGE³, PETER², JOHNIES¹ GEARHARDT) was born 1860 in Dodgeville, IA, and died Bef. 1950. He married IDA (LYDA) HURLEY Abt. 1905. She was born Bef. 1890, and died Abt. 1906 in Missouri.

Notes for IDA (LYDA) HURLEY:
It is not known for sure that the name is accurate. Everett was born to Frank Gearheart and wife and the wife died soon after childbirth due to complications the story goes. But the wife (Ida) was not from a respected family as the story goes and the Gearhart family did not wish to recognize the marriage. Everett was given over to his uncle and aunt of Frank to raise. There are church attendance records of the time prior to the birth that indicate a Lyda Hurley. I believe that actually my ancestors name was Lyda not Ida and only that my grandfather was young and may not have heard the name correctly over the years as her name was not often spoken.
