Tama County Genealogical Soc. letter to Darrell Curtis, 6 Jun 1995, states that Catherine was the daughter of Mary Wilder Ashby. This is confirmed by Katherine Stevenson's death certificate stating the mother was Mary Wilder and birthplace was unknown. Catherine's obituary mentioned a half-brother named David Dale of Des Moines. Therefore, it is fairly safe to conclude that Catherine was Mary Wilder Dale Ashby.
