He owns 510 acres of land, valued at $21,500. Mr. Zeigler lived in Ohio at the time of his birth. When he was 2 years of age, his parents removed to Fountain County, IN. He remained with his parents until he was 25, then emigrated to Newtown Twp. and settled on the land where he now resides. He purchased this land from the Government at $1.25 per acre.

[Compiler believes this William to be the son of Frederick and Elizabeth Hoobler Zeigler who left PA and traveled to Ohio with Margaret Brown Hoobler and the rest of the family in 1822, then moved on to Illinois around 1826.] Parents: Frederick ZEIGLER and Elizabeth HOOBLER.
