On the list, Jacob signed with an "H" rather than using the customary "X" as signature. The hand-written surname appears as "Hoobler."

*This list came to light after list 30A was in print. As it was undated, it was not identified until the index of names had been prepared. (Pennsylvania German Pioneers, Vol 1, 1727-1775, GPC, 1966)

The Hublers settled in the Tulpehocken area of Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer. Tulpehocken Twp. tax rolls for 1767, 1768, 1779, 1781, 1784, 1785, and 1790 all list Hans or John Hubler.

Lebanon County History states that Jacob Hubelor was one of the first settlers in the Tulpehocken. He is on the tax roll of Oct. 7, 1738 with 150 acres.

Listed in Naturalizaiton of Protestants, April 7, 1761. On tax rolls of Tulpehocken for 1752, 1754, 1756.

Mrs. C. T. Dorland Dies Suddenly

Final rites for Mrs. C. T. Dorland, 81, who died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday afternoon, were conducted from Bethel Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Tuesday by Rev. G. W. Ukena. Interment was in West Union cemetery. Pallbearers were Will Philips, Oscar Jonsberg, Carl Kohler, Will Murphy, G. D. Smith and Charles Hidinger.
Sophia Jacobia [sic] Dorland, daughter of Charles and Adeline Hops Jacobia, was born Sept. 25, 1873, at Maynard. When still young, she mvoed with her parents to West Union, where she grew to womanhood.
On July 12, 1893, she was united in marriage with C. T. Dorland in the German church at Elgin. They made their home in West Union. Four children were born to them, three sons and a daughter.
Shortly after their marriage, they built their present hom in West Union where she resided until her death.
She was a member of the Royual Neighbors lodge and of the American Legion Auxiliary, having been a member of the latter for nearly 35 years. She and her husband were privileged to celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary last summer. Her death occurred at the age of 81 years, five months and eight days.
Surviving are her husband, two sons, Harold, at home, and Lyle, Charles City; a grandson, Thomas, Cedar Falls; a brother, George, Grand Rapids, Minn., and a sister, Minnie, Duluth, Minn. A daughter, Beryl Edith, died in infancy and a son, Thomas, in 1952; two brothers, Julius and Henry, and three sisters, Katherine, Lena and Mary, preceded her in death. Parents: Charles JACOBI and Adeline HOPS.

She was married to Charles Theron DORLAND on 12 Jul 1893 in Fayette Co., Elgin, IA. Children were: Beryl Edith DORLAND , Harold DORLAND, Lyle Dinzel DORLAND, Thomas Eugene DORLAND.
