Hampton Getty Hall (b. Jun 1838, d. 10 Jan 1919)

Hampton Getty Hall (son of Thomas Hall and Nancy M.) was born Jun 1838 in Steubenville City, Jefferson, Ohio, and died 10 Jan 1919 in his daughter's (Alvernia) home, Dennison Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He married Jenny Jane Kennedy on Abt. 1862, daughter of Kennedy and unknown.

Notes for Hampton Getty Hall:
"Was born in 1842, being just ten years older than my father. He was one of 27 children, his father being married twice. The first wife had 14 children and then she passed away and his second wife had 13 children. So Grandpa Hall was the 27th child. A good many of the men of this family had boats or worked on boats on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. His father and brother were captains of large boats. His father met a tragic death; he stumbled and fell down the hatchway of his boat and was killed. During the Civil War, Hampton Hall met Jenny Kennedy at a dance on one of these boats. He fell madly in love with her and they were shortly married and lived in Steubenville, Ohio. He dressed tools in the railroad shops there. Later they moved to Dennison, Ohio, where their children were born after the Civil War. He died in my mother's home when he was 80." per Edna Pearle Shields Palmer
