He married Bertha Beatrice Hall on 04 Aug 1919 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, daughter of Guy Vernard Hall and Mary Emma Clark.

then into mines to dig coal - later company work and running a motor until Navy enlistment in Dec. 1917
had played ball with Winburn team - good pitcher and short stop

Interested in photography - took family pictures
Navy boot training @ Newport, RI - then electrical school @ Brooklyn Navy Yard - spent a lot of time at Rockefeller Institute as meningitis carrier - medical discharge November 1918

married Bertha Hall 4 Aug 1919 (his brother Russell married her sister Ella Mae)
moved by train to Deer Lodge, Montana - rugged country
worked for the railroad
returned to Winburne in 1924 with two girls
moved to Painted Post in 1926 - worked at Ingersoll Rand Co. until retirement

wonderful Christian man - very happily married for almost 59 years
best father in the world - could do anything!
