6. John GIBNEY was born
in 1826 in Old Castle, Ireland. He died in 1896 in Eden Valley, Minnesota.
He emigrated from Ireland during the 1840's, settling first in Mt. Forest, Ontario.
Married Anne Heaney in "Our Lady Immaculate Parish Community" in Gueloh,
Ontario. John and his father-in-law, Owen Heaney, were given land grants in Normandy
Township. John's was Section #46 and Owen's was Section #77. He and his family
migrated (around 1870) to Eden Valley, Minnesota with a group named "The
MacKinsie Group", because of the discrimination and treatment by the English
residents of the Normandy area.
He was married to Anne HEANEY (daughter of Owen HEANEY and
Mary SMITH) on 21 Sep 1848 in Guelph, Ontario.
Anne HEANEY was born in 1834 in Ireland. She died on 3 Dec 1889
in Eden Valley, Minnesota. John GIBNEY and Anne HEANEY had the following children:
