(51) He was buried on 3 Nov 1903 in Union Cemetery, Johnson County,
AR. During the Civil War, William hide in area caves to avoid being drafted
into this war, his belief was that Americans should not be killed Americans.
It has been said that he moved his family to Missouri for two years and came
back. He may have went with Benjamin Pelts (possibly brother to James Warren's
wife Margrette Pelts) who went awall so he could move his family to Lawrence
County, Missouri. On December 13, 1873, William was given a license to preach
the gospel. It was known that when he did preach it was in a log school- church.
His six shooters remained on his hips while his rifle stood in the corner nearby.
William belonged to the Baptist Church of Christ. Along with his Uncle Hugh
Warren, and his grandson Rufus J. Warren. These men were able to marry their
own sons, daughters, and other relatives. The following are the credentials
of William Warren which allowed him to preach the Gospel. The information came
from Book N, pg. 276 in the Clarksville Court house. Mt. Pleasant Church Johnson
County, Arkansas December 18, A.D. 1873. We the United Baptist Church of Christ
met in conference on Saturday before the third Lord's day on Dec. 18. We do
agree to license Brother William Warren to preach the Gospel where ever he may
be called. This done in conference and signed by order of the church. M.C.

He had eight children; Andrew Jackson, Isaac John, Israel Dotson, Rebecca, George
Washington, Sarah Elizabeth, Abraham Lincoln (Link), and Jeremiah Nathaniel.
When his sister Belinda Bennett died William took her children into his home
and helped send his sisters sons, Dr. Alfred and Dave Bennett, to school. The
two older sons of the Bennetts never came back from the Civil War. Memories
of William are that he was an old man sitting on Lizzie's porch reading the bible.
After Narcissus died, William lived with his daughter Lizzie Griffith until his
death. Descrepany on William's death date. Union Cemetery records indicate a
death on 3 November 1901, and Family records of John and Jeanette Pelham have
this date as 3 November 1903. He was married to * Narcissus Jane CRIBBENS in
1846 in Arkansas.(8)

(60) He died about 1934 in Little Rock, Pulaski, AR. It is said that
he was also married to Susan Stroud. "She was a mean woman. They had 14
children, however only 4 lived." They were divorced, he left the area with
another woman. They raised their own family. He was gone for some time some
30-40 years, but he returned to his birthplace before he died. Also found him
listed as Isaac John Calvin Warren. Died insane asylum, Pauper Grave, Little
Rock, Arkansas

(26) He was buried in Union Cemetery, Johnson County, AR. Union Cemetery
records list Israel born 1 Feb 1855 and died 27 Dec 1950. This is in conflict
with other souce records.
Family records of John and Jeanette Pellham indicate Israel's birth at 1 Feb
1854 and death on 27 Dec 1915.

(26) She was buried in Union Cemetery, Johnson County, AR. Rebecca
Eveline (Evenline) was the 4th of 8 children. Her father was the Reverend William
Marion Warren and her mother Narcissa Cribbens.
During the time of the Civil War, William moved his family to Missouri for two
years, then returned to Arkansas. It was stated that he moved his family to
Missouri because he didn't believe in Americans killing one another. Apparently
Missouri didn't draft for the Civil War and Arkansas did.

in Rosetta Cemetery, Johnson County, AR. He also went by "Nathan".
There is a Nathan in the Kentucky death index that would have been born in 1862\63.
