A member of the House of Burgesses, 1683. John was the clerk of Gloucester County and was instrumental in bringing to Virginia the first printing press. He server on the Collector High Court of Admiralty, 1680. He was married to * Deborah FERRERS on 10 Jul 1661 in London, Middlesex, England.
