He died on 11 Oct 1872 in Liberty, Clay, MO. (215) He was survived by 15 of his children. He was buried on 16 Oct 1872 in Little Shoal Cemetery, Clay County, MO. He served in the military.(2) Nathan served the greater part of the Revolution, he also served against the North Western Indians and was severely wounded in St. Clair's defeat. He only saved his life by hiding himself in the leaves of a fallen tree, and after night-fall, slipped away. He was a private in the War of 1812, in Col. Dudley's 13th Regiment of Kentucky volunteers Militia and was in his defeat. But Nathen was not captured. In the charge made by Dudley only twenty or thirty of his men got back to Fort Meigs. The company muster roll shows Nathan served 29 March to 22 September, 1813, being discharged at Seneca, 22 September. Nathan came to Clay Co., Missouri about the year 1821 and made his home there ever since. He was married twice and raised sixteen children. In 1850 Nathan was living in Liberty Twp., Clay County, Missouri with his second wife, Martha. He was listed as having black serving slaves in his will, he left money to pay them. He homesteaded land near Liberty, Clay County, Missouri. The homestead was located at: East half of the South quarter of Section No. 1, Township No. 51 Range No. 32. West half of the South quarter of Section No. 1, Township No. 51 Range No. 32. He was married to * Hannah GROOMS on 30 Jan 1810 in Clark County, KY.
