4. * Cordon Elsworth GIFFORD was born on 15 Jan 1868 in Lewisburg, Miami, KS. ⁽⁷⁾⁽⁸⁾ He died on 30 Aug 1934 in Oregon. He died of heart failure. He was buried in Parma Cemetery, Parma, Canyon, ID.⁽⁵⁾ On Sept 16th 1863 the Cherokee Outlet was opened for run. There were 100,000 persons on the starting line. Two of these people were Cordon Gifford (25) and his brother Charley Gifford (who had just turned 23, 2 days before). There were certain places you could start the run from and Caldwell, Kansas is where they were. When the run began the two boys started out on horseback. Their father, Oscar then took a covered wagon with all their belongings and headed for Ponca City. after the boys staked their claims they had to ride to Ponca City to file them. There they met their father and then showed him where the homestead was. He was married to * Lillie May NORRIS on 14 Apr 1901 in Woodward County, OK.

5. * Lillie May NORRIS was born on 26 May 1879 in Ottawa, Buchanan, MO. She died on 14 Apr 1953 in Nyssa, Malheur, OR. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Emmett, Gem, ID.^{(5) (5)} Children were:

i. Mary Elizabeth GIFFORD was born on 21 Oct 1901 in Woodward County, OK. She died on 7 Apr 1992 in Port Angeles, Clallam, WA.
ii. Freddie Elsworth GIFFORD was born on 13 Dec 1903 in Woodward County, OK. He died on 24 Jan 1906 in Woodward County, OK. He died after he fell into a big pot of lye soap the his mother was making. He burned to death.
iii. Emmett George GIFFORD was born on 16 Apr 1905 in Woodward County, OK. He died on 19 Apr 1982 in Boise, Ada, ID.^{(9) (9)} He was buried in Parma Cemetery, Parma, Canyon, ID.^{(10) (9)(11)}
iv. Lela Vaneta GIFFORD was born on 13 Jan 1907 in Woodward County, OK. She died on 3 Oct 1935 in Emmett, Gem, ID. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Emmett, Gem, ID.^{(5) (5)}
v. Bertha May GIFFORD was born on 5 Dec 1908 in Pearl, Woodward, OK. She died on 15 Sep 1910 in Koshkonong, Oregon, MO.^{(12) (13)} Died of Dysentery. She was buried in Koshkonong, Oregon, MO.
vi. Elsie Angline "Angie" GIFFORD was born on 12 Aug 1911 in Alton, Oregon, MO. She died on 23 Jan 1995 in Boise, Ada, ID. ^(14)(15) She was survived by 1 sister, Francis Brownfield of Emmett, Id.; 4 sons, David of Meridian, Dallas of Kuna, James of Boise, Sam of Parma; 3 daughters, Bernice Kadel of Caldwell, Shirley Jensen of Caldwell, Lynn Graham of Scio, Oregon. 29 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was buried on 27 Jan 1995 in Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Canyon, ID.^{(16) (16)} She grew up in Emmett, Idaho. After she was married she lived on a ranch in Big Bend near Adrian, Oregon, until 1973 when they retired and moved to Caldwell. Angie was active in church and community affairs in Adrian and Caldwell. She was a member of the Association of Retarded Citizens, the First Christian Church, the Hospital Auxiliary and the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.

viii. Audrey Faye GIFFORD was born about 1914 in Rockyford, Otero, CO.
ix. Mable GIFFORD was born in 1915 in Rockyford, Otero, CO. She died in 1915 in Rockyford, Otero, CO.

xi. Orrin GIFFORD was born on 29 Mar 1920 in Filer, Twin Falls, ID. ^(17)(18) He died on 30 Mar 1920 in Filer, Twin Falls, ID.^{(19) (19)} State records do not show any death certificate was filed. Family members are the only source of their death, other than an unmarked grave in the Filer Cemetery bought by Cordon Gifford.

He was buried in Filer Cemetery, Filer, Twin Falls, ID. He is the Twin of Ora Gifford.
xii. Ora GIFFORD was born on 29 Mar 1920 in Filer, Twin Falls, ID. ^(20)(21) She died on 30 Mar 1920 in Filer, Twin Falls, ID.^{(19) (19)} State records do not show any death certificate was filed. Family members are the only source of their death, other than an unmarked grave in the Filer Cemetery bought by Cordon Gifford.
Orrin and Ora Gifford; Twins, they both died shortly after birth and they were buried in an unmarked grave bought by Cordon Gifford. When we talked to the sexton who he thought that Cordon was burred in the grave. He believes that they were in wooden coffins because the grave had caved in and were being filled in with dirt. There may have been a wooden marker, but is no longer in existence.

She was buried in Filer Cemetery, Filer, Twin Falls, ID. She is the Twin of Orrin Gifford.
