FOURTH GENERATION

23. Daniel Pinckney MCKISSICK Jr.(16) was born about 1824 in Buncombe County, NC. Daniel was 12 years of age when the family came to Clinton County in 1832, and like his father was proficient as a hunter and in all branches of woodcraft. He was educated in an old log schoolhouse with furniture of slab seats and a rough chimney and fireplace at one end of the building. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and died at the age of eighty-seven years. Two of the daughters became successful teachers. He was a soldier of the Confederate army. It is said that he was killed in battle.

He was married to Mary J. WEEDIN (daughter of Hiram WEEDIN and Mary Catherine "Polly" MCKISSICK). Mary J. WEEDIN was born in Saline County, MO. Daniel Pinckney MCKISSICK Jr. and Mary J. WEEDIN had the following children:

child78 i. Joesph E. MCKISSICK(16) was born on 23 Dec 1850 in Clinton County, MO. The McKissick Farm in Atchison Township comprises 145 acres of well improved and valuable land, with an excellent residence of six rooms, surrounded with attractive grounds, fruit and shade trees, and altogether was one of the model homesteads of that vicinity. Joseph engaged in farming on the diversified plan, and feed most of his crops to his own stock.

child82 v. Minnie J. MCKISSICK died. She died at the age od twenty-six.
