5. Daniel Pinckney MCKISSICK Sr.⁽¹⁶⁾ was born on 20 Jan 1787 in 96th District, Union County, SC.⁽¹⁷⁾ He died on 13 May 1854 in Clinton County, MO. ⁽¹⁸⁾ Found listed that he died at the age of 68. Daniel and his wife and five children left Tennessee and came with a wagon drawn by four horses into Northwest Missouri. In the early years of their homesteading they depended to a large extent for their provisions on wild game, and endured all the experiences of the very earliest settlers. He was a noted as a deer hunter in Clinton County, was a member of the Christian Church. Both were Christian people, and their hospitality was known far and wide about their early home in Clinton County.

He was married to Mary "Polly" KENT (daughter of * William Mark KENT and * Martha BANKHEAD) on 15 May 1808 in Bedford County, TN. Mary "Polly" KENT was born on 1 Aug 1788 in Buncombe County, NC. ⁽¹⁷⁾ Also found her as being born in South Carolina. She died on 22 Jul 1867 in Clinton County, MO. She was from an old southern family. Daniel Pinckney MCKISSICK Sr. and Mary "Polly" KENT had the following children:
