MOVES JEWELRY STORE TO NEW QUARTERS
I. W. Furby, who for the past twenty-five years has conducted his jewelry business in the same room with the Krause drug store, has moved his stock and fixtures to the Hungerford Building, formerly used by the C. I. P. S. Co. as its local office. Mr. Furby informs us that the move was made in order that he might have more room in which to display his line of jewelry and to better accommodate his customers. The new room has been newly painted and decorated and presents a very attractive appearance and is an ideal location in every way. In making the move, considerable difficulty was experienced in moving the huge safe. It was taken down Main street on the sidewalk to the new location, where it was necessary to remove one of the large plate-glass windows in order to get it in the building. In addition to his jewelry business, Mr. Furby carries on quite an extensive insurance business. He is also secretary of the local Building-Loan Association, all of which work he will continue to handle in his new location.

WHO'S WHO IN ONARGA
In attempting these brief sketches of the lives of some of the citizens of our community, the Leader and Review cannot hope to do justice to the subjects, but merely to relate a few incidents which, no doubt, played a part in developing them into the very useful citizens and interesting people who have done their part to make Onarga what it is.
IRA FURBY
About sixty-one years ago Ira Furby came to Onarga, aged nothing, and liked the place so well he has been here ever since. By far the greater share of "Furb's" waking hours during those years have been spent on Onarga's Main Street. His father, Mr. J. B. Furby, conducted a dry goods store here and from the time he was fifteen years old, Ira assisted his father in the store after school hours and on Saturdays. Since 1895 he has been constantly employed on Main street, with the exception of three years spent at the tile mill. He has watched and been a part of its development from the days of the board walk, hitching posts, mud holes and the beautiful vine which shaded the south end. Ira received his education in the public schools and Grand Prairie Seminary and married an Onarga girl, Miss Louise Barnes, so he can be truly called a native son. His first school teacher was a sister of the local jeweler at that time. Perhaps she influenced his later ambitions, at any rate in December, 1907, he opened a jewelry shop in Barnum's drug store. In 1909 he moved in with C. L. Krause and conducted his business at that location until October 1934, when, feeling the need of more room he moved into the Hungerford building where he is now located. As a boy Ira had very little time for sports so he is now trying to make up some of those lost hours on the golf links and is giving a pretty good account of himself. He has been a member of the Methodist church, the Masonic lodge and also of the Military School board of directors for a good many years. He is pleasant to meet and popular among friends and business associates, an industrious man who has helped materially in the progress and improvement of his town. He died in 1949.
