(4)(3) ELENDAR CLAYTON was born on 22 Mar 1793 in SURRY CO?, North Carolina. She died on 16 Jan 1878 in REDWOOD VALLEY, Mendocino County, CA. She was buried after 16 Jan 1878 in Schoolhouse Cemetery, Redwood Valley, Calif.. JOHN HANSARD and ELENDAR CLAYTON had the following children:

child11 i. Nancy HANSARD was born about 1812 in Knox County, Tennessee. Although Nancy is not mentioned by name, it is felt that she was the "illegitimate female child" that was mentioned in the Bastardy Suit that Eleanor Clayton brought against John Hansard in 1812. It was told that Nancy may have been a victim of infantile paralysis or some other form of crippling illness and had to be carried. Her care fell to John's parents, William and Martha Hansard. This would lend credence to the reasoning behind William Hansard's will leaving the care of Nancy in the care of son, John. She died after 1846 in Knox County, Tennessee.
