was born in 1819 in Knox County, Tennessee. He died on 23 Jan 1864 in Ft. McLean
Barracks, Cincinnatti, Ohio. Acording to family stories, William Coupland was
a Conferate spy. He would smuggle out details of Union army by hiding details
in his boots. Union officers showed up at his home in Knox County and took him
away. His family assumed he was shot. He was shipped to Ft. McLean Barracks
in Cincinnatti, Ohio where he died. Is buried there. Nancy Mae HALL and William
