FUNERAL F. J. BURCHETT IN GORIN TUESDAY

Funeral rites were held in the Gorin Methodist Church, Tuesday October 22 at 2:00 P.M. for Fred Jacob Burchett, who passed away October 19. Services were in charge of Rev. Howard Fisher and the body laid to rest in the Gorin Cemetery. Body bearers were Roy Kraus, Leland Robinson, John Peterson, Cecil Doss, Kenner Price and Westley Lay.
Fred Jacob Burchett was born in Collins, Missouri May 7, 1833. He was married to Miss Etta Smith, March 31, 1900 at Ozokie, who survives him. To this union were born three children: Mrs. Von Ceil Jinkens Memphis, Missouri; Mrs. Youree Hamilton of Gorin; Fred I. Burchett of La Junta, Colorado; and one foster daughter, Mrs. Alice Massey of Topeka, Kansas. He leaves two sisters: Mrs. Della Stubbs of Vista, Missouri and Mrs. J. W. Woodford of Humansville, Missouri and seven grandchildren.
He has been in the service of the Santa Fe for 23 years and had retired on May 10, 1945. He passed away October 19 at the Santa Fe hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He leaves a host of friends.

DIED AT TOPEKA, KANSAS

Fred J. Burchett was father of Mrs. Olin Jinkens

Funeral services for Fred J. Burchett who passed away at the Santa Fe hospital at Topeka, Kansas last Saturday, October 19, were held at the Gorin Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Howard Fisher. Interment ws in the Gorin Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Warren Kraus, Leland Robinson, John Peterson, Cecil Doss, Kenner Price and Westley Lay.
Fred Jacob Burchett was born in Collins, Missouri May 7 , 1883. He was married to Miss Etta Smith, March 31, 1909 at Ozokie, Kansas who survives.
They had three children, Mrs. Olin Jinkens of Memphis, Missouri, Mrs Richard Hamilton of Gorin and Fred I. Burchett of La Junta, Colorado. He is also survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Alice Massey of Topeka, Kansas. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Della Stubbs of Vista, Missouri and Mrs. J. W. Woodford of Humansville, Missouri and seven grandchildren.
He had been in the service of the Santa Fe twenty three years and retired in May 1945.
