Grantham in Lancashire

I am researching my own Grantham line. Mostly this has been in Lancashire U.K. but there are some indications that suggest migration to USA or Canada by some. I would be interested to make contact with any "State side cousins". My own parents migrated to Australia in 1965, so whilst I was born in Oldham, Lancashire I consider myself an Ozzie now.

My children's ancestry includes Trethowan and Bowden from Cornwall, as well as Irish and Scottish names. So they have quite strong a Celtic aspect. Also Latvian from my Mother's side, Meirani.

She was born in rural eastern Latvia, lived in the capital Riga until her late teens and moved to the UK after WWII. Latvian Red Cross have been unable to assist so a visit to her village of birth was undertaken earlier this year (2008). I will post the update from this visit shortly.
