Notes for Herbert Mawson:
From discussion with Ida Grantham 26th February 1991.
Bert mawson had a mistress by whom he had a child; left his wife Emmie and returned to her several times. Emmie would never divorce him and took him back each time. Ida's father George would never leave her alone with Bert.
Bert eventually settled down and ended up head porter or station master at Middleton Junction Station.
Roy Grantham snr advised that his uncle Bert had a repair shop in Middleton for pianos and piano accordions.
