My dad's family, the Kennedys and Archers, come out of Iowa, and his mother's side, Saurman and Jones, come from Pennsylvania. My mother's side, the Phillips, Elliots and Beards come from Kansas. I can trace my mom's family back 8 generations, but we are hitting a wall with the Kennedys. The last known Kennedy is Harvey Dale Kennedy, born in Clinton, Iowa, married to Claudia Gertrude Archer. All of these families have made their way to California, particularly Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
