My Swedish American Family

This site contains the names of the descendants of my great, great, great, grandparents. All of these grandparents are Swedish. They lived in four primary geographic areas of Sweden which are: Valinge/Rolfstorp in Halland län; Misterhult/Västrum in Kalmar län; Ramsele/Edsele in Västernorrlands län; and Ingatorp/Rumskulla/Svinhult at the northern edge of Smäland near Ydre. They were mostly farm people. A few were fishermen and military men.

The American destination for these Swedish immigrants was farmland in west central Iowa in Crawford, Ida, and Sac counties. They first started coming in 1867. The succeeding generations have scattered broadly across the United States. Still, today many are tilling the same soil that their grandfathers and great grandfathers farmed over a century ago.

We have added pedigree charts and descendant lists to act as visual roadmaps for the linked name indexes. Please let us know if you find a connection here. We'd like to know who you are.
