John Mack Chance (son of Charles Felton Chance and Susan Anna Edwards) was born December 30, 1907, and died December 20, 1992 in Colquitt Regional Medical Center, Moultri, Colquitt County, Georgia. He married Mary Myrtle Sloan on April 13, 1926 in Coolidge, Thomas County, Georgia.

John Mack Chance,85, of Coolidge, died Sunday at Colquitt Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10a.m. Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with burial in Murphy Cemetery. The Reverand Andy Oxford will officiate. Mr. Chance, a Georgia native, was born December 20,1907, to the late Charles Felton Chance and Susan Anna Edwards Chance. He was a farmer and a member of Coolidge Baptist Church. He was married to the late Mary Myrtle Sloan Chance. He is survived by his son, Howard Franklin Chance, Roanoke, Virginia; three daughters Annie Laura Striplin and Bessie Mae Berry, both of Coolidge, and Alberta Elrod, Moultrie; three sisters, Frances Murphy, Adel, Winnie Drawdy, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Lelia Spence, Miami, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren,21 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The body will remain at Cobb Funeral Chapel, and family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight.
