Began working on my family tree in Feb., 2003. Was very fortunate to have had some excellent work done on our genealogy by other family members. Our Hale side can be traced back to the Civil War era; the Howard (Mother's) side has been traced back to 1359 to the Stockar Stucker Family of the City of Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Our ancetors Michael and Anne Margaret Stockar-Stucker arrived in Philadelphia PA on September 21, 1731 having left their home in Europe to escape religious persecution. Ten generations of Stuckers preceded my generation. My ancestors fought in every major conflict that occurred in the time period from 1731 to 1945. "Indian Jake" Stucker was a renowned Indian fighter who was associated with Daniel Boone; he accompanied Boone on some of the early treks westward. I'm just starting to research the our ancestry and hope to contribute to the existing body of work.
