Claiborne Green Johnson (son of Walter Franklin Johnson and Lola Montez Paschall) was born 29 Apr 1903 in Miller Grove, Texas, and died 06 Aug 1995 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He married Mary Edna Smith, daughter of Joe Valentine Smith and Margaret Edith Tatom.

Brother to Perry, Walter, and Virgie. Always lived in Miller Grove in his father's home, remaining there to care for aging parents when his siblings had married and moved away. Married the first grade school teacher and had children: Patsy (professor and college administrator), Coy (lawyer), and Lynn (professor and college administrator). Supported all three children who earned doctoral degrees without the aid of any loans or ourside help. Farmed and worked as a painting contractor.

Active Methodist all his life.

He loved to grow large vegetable gardens, hunt, fish, and visit with the men of the community - daily on the store porch. As an old man, he was usually found sitting in the swing under "the big tree." (in front of the family home).

After the untimely death of his wife, Edna, he married Lou, to whom he was married for 8 years until her death in l989. The last three years of his life were in a nursing home in Sulphur Springs. He died at 93.
