Mr. Coy Gene Wilbanks, age 67, husband of Frances Davis Wilbanks of 625 Airline Road, Anderson, SC, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson. Born in Anderson County, SC on May 19, 1940, Mr. Wilbanks was a son of Crayton J. Wilbanks of Anderson and the late Louise Sammons Wilbanks. He was retired from textiles and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple. Survivors include his wife, Frances Davis Wilbanks of the home; sons, Frankie Gene Wilbanks, Bruce Wilbanks, James “Monk” Bradford, Doug Bradford, all of Anderson; Michael Bradford of Starr, Roger Bradford and Marcus Bradford, both of Iva; daughters, Wanda Burgess of Lavonia, GA and Sylvia Davis of Anderson; father, Crayton J. Wilbanks of Anderson; brothers, George Wilbanks and Sammy Ray Wilbanks, both of Anderson; sisters, Shirley Skelly of Anderson and Margie Lupo of Pennsylvania; nineteen grandchildren including Justin Lee Davis and Alex Davis who were raised in the home; 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra McClaflin and a brother, James Sammons Wilbanks. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverends Sam Duncan and Daryle Hawthorne officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Anderson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
