1040. Juanita BROWN (photo) was born on 26 Jan 1926 in Triplett, Morehead, Rowan Co., Kentucky. Juanita followed in family footsteps by teaching school. She taught in various county schools to include Holly Fork School. Her involvement with the school system did not end with her teaching. She served on the County school board. Juanita is best known for her social work skills. She served over 20 years as outreach worker for the Gateway Community Services Organization. She is known by most citizens of Rowan County. She was always ready to help the county's citizens in any way she could. She transported many people to Lexington for medical care when they had no way, She help single mothers to obtain their GED. She was an expert in dealing with problems concerning the elderly. She oversaw many programs that ranged from headstart, homedelivered meals, chore services, weatherization and home chore services. With her retirement came a major gap in services to the public. She was missed by many who benefitted from her dedication to public service. Juanita turned her attention to raising her granddaughters, who lost their parents in a tragic carwreck.

She was married to Cecil Franklin COOPER on 7 Dec 1946 in Maysville, Mason Co., Kentucky. Cecil Franklin COOPER (photo) was born on 3 Jan 1922 in Petersville, Lewis Co., Kentucky. He died on 25 Dec 1987 in Lexington, Fayette Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Memorial Gardens, Rowan Co., Morehead, Kentucky. Juanita BROWN and Cecil Franklin COOPER had the following children:
