Descendants of Low W. BROWN Sr.

Low served as an Indian Scout on the Virginia Frontier during the Revolutionary War under the command of Captain. Jesse Evans, 111 VA Regiment. Also under the command of George Rogers Clark, during the conquest of the Northwest Territory, and the Vincennes expedition. He fought at the Battle of King's Mountain. Low fought in the historic battle of Point Pleasant, West Virginia against the Indian Chief Cornstalk in October 1774. He marched to the banks of the Mississippi . Low was discharged in 1780 and returned to Va. (His pension application is printed elsewhere in this book) He married Jane Davidson in 1782, a daughter of John Goolman Davidson. Many of his descendents still live in Carter and Rowan Counties of Kentucky. Corrections and additions to this information is welcomed.
