7. George KNIPP (1)(18) was born in 1780 in Wythe Co., Virginia. He died in 1855 in Lawrence Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Knipp Cemetery, Carter County, Ky. (19) This Cemetery was relocated to Memory Gardens in Grayson, Carter Co. Kentucky. due to the Grayson dam project. Miller has B: 1790 Wythe Co. VA, D: 1855 Lawrence Co. Ky.
James Knipp has the following: 1810 Wythe County, VA, Census:"George Knip--1M under 10, 1M 16-26, 2F under 10, 1F 16-26". The one male 16-26 would be George, and the one female 16-26 would be Sarah Sally Adams. This means George and Sally had one son and two daughters, all under 10. If the birth dates of the four children listed are correct, these must be other children. According to Cora Mae Bailey research: George was the first Knipp to migrate to Carter County. He and Sally also lived in Lee County VA, near the Turkey Cove Area. They arrived in Kentucky before 1840 (were listed in the 1840 and 1850 Carter County Census). Their children married into (Wallace, Cox, Horton) families who were from the same region in VA. Two of George's brothers also came to Carter County.

He was married to Sarah (Sally) ADAMS (daughter of William "Bill" ADAMS and Fanny MITCHEM) in 1810.(20) Sarah (Sally) ADAMS(1) (21) was born about 1794 in North Carolina. She died after 1850 in Carter Co. Kentucky. George KNIPP and Sarah (Sally) ADAMS had the following children:
