He died on Little Sandy of typhoid fever. Patsy was born at Bruin, KY, in Elliot County Kentucky; died at Riggs or Sophie, Kentucky. Theyr are both burined in Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson, Ky. John bought property on Gimlet Creek which remained in the family until it was sold to Grayson Reservoir Project in the 1960's.

He was married to Patricia (Patty) WALLACE (daughter of William WALLACE and Cynthia FISHER) on 18 May 1870. Patricia (Patty) WALLACE^{(1) (68)} was born on 12 Jun 1851. She died on 4 Jun 1925. Cora Baily has "Martha "Patsy" Wallace, B. 12 June 1851, Died 4 June 1925. John Littleton KNIPP and Patricia (Patty) WALLACE had the following children:
