93. George Washington KNIPP ^(1)(72) was born on 15 Oct 1843 in Clifty, Carter Co., Kentucky. He died on 28 Oct 1919 in Dakota, West Virginia. Death date source is from Marlene West Perry PPerry9426@aol.com. He was buried in Cabin Creek, Dakota, West Virginia. George was 7 years old in 1850 census so his date of birth has to be a little incorrect. His date of birth would be more like 1843. Marriage date verified by William T. Hamilton, Ky State Archives microfiche Reel # 344061, 642 3 June 1865. Last name was spelled as Knapp in that record.

According to Marlene West Perry, PPerry9426@aol.com, George put his birth date up as Sarah Jane was older than him and it bothered him. She had been in love with his older brother Henry Jackson Knipp and Henry was killed in the Civil War. George loved her and kept at her till they got married. Dates on his tombstone: Born Oct 15, 1847 Died 28 Oct 1919, Buried at Dekota, Kanawha Co. WVA. He came to live with his brother in Kanawha County after Sarah died.

Buried in the Perry Cemetery on the right side of the mountain. (there are two Perry cemeteries close together one is on the left and the other is on the right.

He was married to Sarah "Blevins" WILSON (daughter of William "Billy" WILSON and Mary "Pop" BLEVINS) on 3 Jun 1865 in Carter Co., Kentucky. Sarah "Blevins" WILSON⁽¹⁾ was born on 28 Jul 1842. She died on 14 Aug 1910. She was buried in Creech Cem., Head Of Sanking, Elliot Co., Kentucky. Sarah Jane Blevins (Wilson) was the illegitimate daughter of Mary "Pop" Blevins and William Wilson) She is the Daughter of Mary's Brother-in-law. George Washington KNIPP and Sarah "Blevins" WILSON had the following children:
