Henry Blanton (son of Leander Blanton and Ceby S. Ashley) was born 29 Sep 1893 in Leitchfield, KY, and died 27 Oct 1962 in At Home - Toledo, OH¹. He married Edna Bratcher on 05 Aug 1924 in Louisville, KY, daughter of Jacob Sherman Bratcher and Barbara Ann Miller.

When William Henry Blanton's mother and father died, he went to live wi th another couple (Nelson?) in Kentucky. He only stayed with them a few y ears. He was six (1899) when he went there to live and was 13 (1906) wh en he left and made his own living from then on.

Aunt Gert's research claims he was born in Shrewsbury, KY, however his hon orable discharge papers claims he was born in Richfield, KY. I could n ot locate a Richfield, KY on Google Maps or Mapquest or anywhere else on t he internet. After some research I discovered that it is actually Leitchf ield, KY. Shrewsbury and Leitchfield are fairly close so he probably liv ed in one place and was born in the other (assuming Leitchfield because it 's a larger city).

SS Number: 292-07-6465, issued in Ohio. The record from the Social Secur ity Death Index has the incorrect death month. He died in Oct. of 1962, n ot January.

Aunt Gert's notes claimed that Henry lived with a Mrs. Potter, she resid ed in East Toledo, near their future home on Idaho St. She was formerly k nown as Ms. Armstrong.
