The Thomas C. Hanes of Ohio Family Home Page

Researching the Hanes family who immigrated from Wurttemburg Germany in 1853. Arrived April 23, 1853 in New Orleans LA aboard the SS Belle Assise, settling in Darke County Ohio. The German name was probably Hoenes. George W. Hanes m. Amanda Bonham, a decendant of Hezikiah Bonham. There is Gordon's of NJ in that line who immigrated to Ohio in 1839 by wagon train.
Also researching my Mother's family, the Corwin's. Her line goes back to Mathias Corwin who settled in MA and then moved to Southold LI. Jesse Corwin was born in 1736, m. Keziah Case and immigrated to NJ. Was a Patriot on the RW, moved first to Fayette Co PA and then to Bourbon Co. KY. Died there in 1791 and was buried in the Hutchison Cemetery(?) near Paris KY. After his death Keziah moved to Warren Co before 1800. Need birth and death verifications.
