Grandmother Sarah wife of Samuel Pouncy
born 1773 died August 1849 age 75 years

next to her was her son Peter Pouncy died in 1840 age 35 years.

If Samuel is there also, his grave is unmarked.

322 Last Will and Testament of William H. Jones, deceased
The State of Alabama "In the Name of God Amen"\
Montgomery County I, Willam H. Jones of the County and State aforesaid being in good health, and of a sound disposing mind, memory and under standing do make ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking and annulling all former wills by me made.\
first I desire all of my just debts to be paid by my executors bereinafter named

2nd After all my just debts are paid I desire the folowing disposition made of my property that is to say I give , desire and bequeath with my beloved wife Nancy Jones if she survive me all of my real estate of every description including my present residence and the land now owned by me Containing Eight Hundred Acres more or less, and lying and being situated about four miles Southwest of "Butlers Mill" in the county and state aforesaid, also all of my slaves male and female (except Perry a boy and a woman named Tenah and child which I have heretofore given to my grandson James B. Merchant a minor, son of Elizabeth Merchant deceased, who was my daughter, which slaves and their increase I now confirm to him his heirs and assigns forever) Also my household and kitchen furniture, stock of all kinds, and also all the cash that may be on hand at the time of my death and also all notes bonds bills accounts as evidence of debt that may be due me at the time of my death. To have and to hold to her the said Nancy Jones as aforesaid, if she survives me for and during the tern of her natural life and no longer, she to hold use possess and enjoy the same while she lives and also the yearly crops raised and all income from the same as tho she held the same in fee as long as she lives but not tho sell or dispose of the same Except the yearly crops, in fine her Estate will be a life Estate and will determine with her life, and upon her death all of my Estate real personal or mixed I will and desire to be sold by any Executors herein named and I confer the power on him to sell the same as full as I could do if living, and then I give and bequeath the same as follows that is to say I give and bequeath one half of my whole Estate as aforesaid, to the children born to me by my present wife Nancy Jones as aforesaid share and share alike, the children of a deceased child if any to take their parents share, and the other half of my whole Estate as aforesaid I give desire and bequeath unto all of my children share and share alike, born unto me by my first wife Polly Jones now deceased, and by my present wife NancyJones as aforesaid the children of a deceased child to take their Parents share, The plain intent of this my will being that upon the death of my wife Nancy Jones, all my Estate having been sold by my Executor is to be divided into two shares, whereupon my children born unto me by my present Marriage with Nancy Jones are to take one share, share and share alike the children of a deceased child to take the share of their deceased parents and then the other half of my Estate as aforesaid I desire and direct to be Equally divided between all of my children born unto me by my first wifePolly Jones and these born unto me by my present wife Nancy Jones as aforesaid share and share alike, the child or children of a deceased Parent to take the parents share of the same.

3rd It is My will and desire that My grandson James B. Merchant as aforesaid continue to reside with my wife with his slaves as he has with Myself and that he be educated during her life out My Estate, and also boarded clothed and provided for during her life


4th Having heretofore given off property to my children, I confirm the same to them forever

5th I fully authorise My Executor to sell and buy stock when he deems it neccessary to do so and to sell all the crops raised with me any order from court during my wifes lifetime, and until My Estate is fully settled, as fully as I could do if living

6th I hereby nominate and appoint Nancy Jones My wife Executrix and my friend Hugh W.Watson Executors of this my last will and Testement
