5. SR. JOHN WILLIAM3 HARPER (GEORGE2, JOSEPH1) was born Abt. 1770, and died Aft. October 04, 1829 in , Clarke County, GA. He married (1) SUSANNAH NORTH Bef. 1799 in Virginia, daughter of JOHN NORTH and SARAH EPPES. She died 1837 in Clarke County, Georgia. He married (2) DRUCILLA HODGES July 10, 1827 in , Clarke County, GA.

John's will was probated November 10, 1829 in Clarke County. It is recorded in Will book B, pages 82, 83.

In the nameof God I John W. Harper, Sr. of the county of Clarke and state of Georgia, being feeble in body, but of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament.
First - I bequeath my soul to God with a belief in the blessed redeemer and humbly relying in his kindness and good will hereafter.
Secondly, - It is my will that all my just debts be first paid out of my estate.
Thirdly - It is my will, that all the balalnce of my estate both real and personal, after paying my just debts, be equally divided between my four children in the following manner, to wit, to my beloved son Joseph M. Harper one fourth of my estate as afore said to him or his heirs forever; to my beloved son Nathaniel Harper, one fourth of my estate as aforesaid, to him and his heirs forever; to my beloved daughter Mary E. Echols, one fourth of my estate as aforesaid to her and her heirs forever - and I will in trust to my son Joseph M. Harper and my son-in-law, Thomas Echols the other fourth of my estate for the use of my beloved daughter Martha Hewell, during her natural life and at her death to descent to her children, to them and their heirs forever.
Fourthly - I do hereby constitute and approve Joseph M. Harper and Thomas Echold executors of this my last will and testament, relying on their honesty and fidelity in faithfully managing my estate.

"of William Eps the sum fourty pounds Virginia Currency for his agency in receiving the money due me from my brothers Abriham and John North dec'd by them inclulding the interest in my fathers estate. It being full of all demands with them and is full discharge for letting the same and do acknowledge should either involve themselves with me in the business to make good any just demands to given under my hand.
