Mat Phillips (son of Elijah J Phillips and Martha Ann Neaves) was born October 18, 1867 in Lincoln County, Tennessee, and died August 31, 1951 in Athens, Limestone Co., Ala. He married Mary Rebecca Wall on December 28, 1898.
