Heinrich Schauss (son of Johann Adam Schauss and Maria Barbara Baum) was born 1741 in Easton, Northampton Co, PA, and died September 26, 1825 in Mortonsville, Woodford Co, KY.

Following is the will of Henry Shouse, dated 31 August 1825 and probated in November 1825, from the probate records of Woodford County, KY. The original will is in the settlement box or file at the Woodford County, KY, courthouse. The clerk erred in copying this will into the Will Book, writing "Permaly dec'd" instead of "Permaly Jesse", which is correct:
"The last will and Testament of Henry Shouse, of Woodford County, Ky. In the name of God, amen I Henry Shouse, being weak in Body, but of sound mind and memory, do make constitute and ordain this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills heretofore made first It is my will and desire that all my Just debts be paid out of my Estate - secondly, I loan to my Beloved wife Elizabeth Shouse, the whole of my Estate, both real and personal during her natural life, and at the death of my said wife, it is my will, and desire that the whole of my said Estate be equally divided among my twelve children that are now living, to wit, Elizabeath Dale, John Shouse, Rachel Martin, Samuel Shouse, Daniel Shouse, Nancy Carpenter, Melender Roper, William Shouse, Mary Mosby, Dianah McQuady, Rebeckah Mosby, and Permaly Jesse, to them and their Heirs forever - Thirdly I appoint my Beloved wife, Elizabeth Shouse, my Executrix and Son William Shouse, Executor of this my last will and testament - Fourthly It is my will and desire that my wife, and Son William, sell a tract of four hundred acres of land I hold in the County of Caldwell, at any time that they may be able to do so to advantage in their Judgement, and the money arising from said Sale to be divided among my twelve children as above - Fifthly, It is my wish and desire, that my three grandchildren, Salley, John and Pemaly Shouse who are now living with me, remain with my wife, and under her care until they are raised and it is further my will and desire that the tract of land whereon I now live shall be sold at the death of my wife all together and the money divided among my children above named - and lastly I Bequeth to my Son Thomas Shouse's seven Children fifty dollars each, at my wife's death. The marriage bond, dated 20 Feb 1769, for Henry Shouse's first marriage to Elizabeth Bone is signed in fine German script by J. Adam
Schauss. Henry Shouse signed his name Henrich Schauss in German script.
