John James STITES (b. September 25, 1826, d. March 25, 1917)

John James STITES (son of Nathaniel Waring STITES and Margaret MCKIBBEN)^{747, 748} was born September 25, 1826 in Cincinnati ,Hamilton, OH^{749, 750, 751}, and died March 25, 1917 in Pontiac,Illinois^{752, 753}. He married Virginia MANSER on 1850 in Hamilton, OH, daughter of Miles MANSER and Catherine MORRIS.

J.J. Stites, M.D.,,physician and surgeon, Pontiac, was born Cincinnati, Ohio 9/25/1826; he was educated at the public schools of his native city and at Woodward College where he graduated 1847, among his classmates were George H. Pendleton and George E. Pugh; he attended medical lecture in Cincinnati, graduating March 7, 1850, practiced in that city until 1854 and then removed to Fayette Co., West Virginia, remaining until December 1861, he graduated at the Virginia Medical College in Feb. 1860; on the breading out of the War, he returned to Cincinnati and resumed his practise there; in 1864 he removed to Pontiac, where he resided ever since engaged in the practice of medicine; he is consulting physical[believe this should be physician] of the State Reform school. He was married 11/16/1851 in Covington, KY to Miss L. Virginia Manser, of New Haven, West Virginia; they have 4 children living; Kate M, now Mrs. William H. Orr of Covington, Kentucky, Margaret A, H. Virginia and Angie E.
