Apprenticed as machinist at R. Musgrave & Son in North Sydney @ .05/hr., 10 hr/day. 1 year at Sydney Steel works, 3 years at Nova Scotia Steel Co. in Sydney Mines. Spent a few mos. in 1917 working in Buffalo, then returned to Musgrave & Son, Cornerbrook, NF, and Dolbeau QB. On August 4, 1928, he started at Mersey Pulp & Paper, Liverpool NS. The Tutty house was at the corner of School and Waterloo in Liverpool.
