FIRST GENERATION

1. Joseph ALLSUP was born in 1794 in Grainger County, TN. He died about 1853 in Hickory County, MO. Joseph Allsup is listed as one of the children of James Allsup of Lincoln County, TN in Lincoln County, TN Deed, Book I p. 367.
In 1820 Census, Lincoln Co. TN Joseph had 4 children, 1 m and 3 f.
In 1830 Census, Lincoln Co. TN 1 m /10-15; 1 m/30-40; 2 f/5-10; 2 f/10-15; 1 f/30-40
In 1840 Census, Lincoln Co., TN 1 m/5-10; 1 m/20-30; 1 m/40-50; 1 f/5-10; 1 f/40-50.

The mother of the chidlren is not known. James married a second time and had 3 more sons by Abigail Carmichael.

Tuesday Morning December the 4th A.D. 1855...Harriet Alsup widow of Joseph.

He was married to Harriet SCOTT (daughter of Joseph SCOTT and Mary) about 1812/13 in prob Washington County, VA. I could not find a marriage for Joseph Allsup and Harriet Scott in Washington Co., VA marriage records. Harriet SCOTT ⁽¹⁾ was born about 1796 in Virginia. She died before 1880 in Hickory County, MO. Joseph ALLSUP and Harriet SCOTT had the following children:
