was born about 1806 in Tennessee. Since the Riggs brothers I had record of
were all born in Alabama but Samuel W.'s son John A.. was born in Mississippi
I looked in the Mississippi 1850 census index for families that could possibly
contain these people. I knew William George was already in Decatur County, Tennessee,
but he had brothers named Isah and Samuel and probably sisters named Sarah and
Mary. I found these four people, plus other brothers in Tishomingo County, Mississippi,
with a mother named Melinda. All the children were born in Alabama. RIGGS
and Melinda had the following children:
