He was buried in Flatwoods Cem, Holladay, Benton, TN.⁽⁵⁾ William George Riggs is said to have been born in or near Birmingham, Alabama. Information given by 2 grandsons--Lonnie Riggs, son of John H. Riggs and Robert Riggs, son of Pinkney Lafayette Riggs.

He was married to Sarah Eveline JENKINS (daughter of JENKINS) about 1850 in prob. Decatur County, TN. 1850 Census, Decatur County, TN states: married within the year. Sarah Eveline JENKINS was born on 23 Jun 1832 in Tennessee. ⁽⁶⁾ She died on 22 Mar 1908 in Holladay, Benton, TN. She was buried in Flatwoods Cem, Holladay, Benton, TN. Robert Riggs said she was born on the Duck River, in Humphrey or Perry Counties. William George RIGGS and Sarah Eveline JENKINS had the following children:
