Barbara Mehring (b. May 15, 1826, d. January 01, 1860)
Barbara Mehring was born May 15, 1826 in Germany, and died January 01, 1860 in Belgium, Ozaukee, Wisconsin. She married John Michael Hirn on Abt. 1845, son of Michael Hirn and Cecilia Koedel.
Notes for Barbara Mehring:
The Holy Cross book of deaths dated 1860 states that "1, January 1860 died without the proper sacraments of the dying but two weeks before had received the Holy Eucharist at the Church of St. Mary of the Lake and was buried the 3 January Barbara Hirn 34 years."
This means that she was probably sick for a while if she was given communion two weeks prior to her death and not at a Christmas mass. The record was entered in the Holy Cross records because the priest traveled between the two parishes.
