Margaret Ronk (b. January 12, 1861, d. November 23, 1900)

Margaret Ronk (daughter of Nicholas Ronk and Margaret Schumacher) was born January 12, 1861 in Belgium, Ozaukee, Wisconsin, and died November 23, 1900 in Belgium, Ozaukee, Wisconsin. She married (1) Frank Carl Hirn on September 27, 1881 in Sheboygan, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, son of John Michael Hirn and Barbara Mehring. She married (2) Frank Brand on April 07, 1896 in Sheboygan, Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Notes for Margaret Ronk:
Margaret is rumored to have had an afair with her husband Frank Hirn's brother John Hirn Jr following Frank's death in 1895. Although she was married to Frank Brand for a very short time and either divorced or anulled before her death. One family story told by her grand daughter says that Margaret's official reason for death, an intestinal obstruction might have been related to an unplanned pregnancy from John Hirn Jr. There are no records to back this story up.

Following her death, John Hirn Jr. petitioned for and became the administrator of Maggie and Frank's estate and is presumed to have taken custody of his nephew's Al and Nick. They were placed in St. Joseph's Techinal School in the Chicago area and later escaped to Northern Wisconsin.
